Unleash the full potential of your iPod, portable MP3 player, CD player, or TV with the Music Sphere wireless speaker system. Consisting of a portable wireless speaker and a separate transmitter, the Music Sphere lets you listen to your favorite music in almost any room in the house regardless of where your audio source is located. The audio range extends to 100 feet, so you have plenty of location options, including on the back patio or in the garage. Or you can simply take the speaker to the other side of the room without worrying about cumbersome cables or a complicated setup. And thanks to the transmitter’s sophisticated 2.4 GHz frequency-hopping spread spectrum (FHSS) technology and the speaker system’s three-driver array (two tweeters and a subwoofer in a high-quality acoustic chamber), the audio comes through crystal clear, with no interference and a smooth, powerful sound.

In addition, the transmitter connects to as many as three independent audio sources at once. Want to listen to your iPod without disconnecting from the DVD player or the stereo amp? No problem, as the Music Sphere’s two line-in jacks and RCA left/right input keep you fully connected. Even more impressively, the Music Sphere is equipped with remote “learning” and “repeat” functions. This lets you both control the speaker functions through a connected source’s remote while also controlling the source itself through the speaker. In other words, you won’t need to trudge across the house to increase the volume or skip tracks–just point the CD player’s remote at the speaker and you’re set.

Listeners will also appreciate the Music Sphere’s adjustable bass and treble controls, along with the three-color LCD display with indicators for clock, volume, bass and treble levels, input selection, and battery levels. The display even changes color based on which source is currently playing. Additional features include a built-in clock, a wall-mount bracket for the speaker, and a total power output of 6 watts (1.5 watts x 2, plus 3-watt subwoofer).

    Product Features

    • Connects to 3 audio sources at once; sources’ remote controls work through speaker; 3-color LCD display
    • Speaker measures 8 x 7.4 x 7.7 inches (W x H x D); transmitter measures 4.5 x 4.2 x 4.5 inches; 1-year warranty

    Pac-Man for iPod

Posted by @ 6:26 pm. Filed under ipod

The iPodMame project has made it possible for iPod owners to play Pac-Man on their iPod nano or iPod video media players.

Currently, iPod Mame runs on Nano and 5g (”Video”) hardware. Due to some strange video driver bug, iPod Color/Photo hardware does not work. Monochrome iPods are untested, and probably won’t work correctly… who knows.

Altec Lansing inMotion Portable Audio System for iPod

Posted by @ 1:24 pm. Filed under Uncategorized, ipod

Everyone loves Apple’s portable iPod digital music player, and taking music with you on the road can be a life saver. But you probably don’t always feel like putting your headphones on, especially once your back at your hotel room–or if you’re organizing the garage or simply making dinner. Altec Lansing has created a headphones-free portable listening alternative: the inMotion powered speaker system, the first portable audio system designed expressly for use with iPods.

With its compact design, ultra-low battery power consumption, powerful class-D amplifier, patented MaxxBass technology, and even a built-in iPod dock, inMotion gives you performance you’d never have thought possible from a portable audio system. inMotion features four full-range, custom-designed neodymium micro drivers (two per speaker) for clear audio output. Using principles borrowed from the professional audio world, inMotion also delivers incredible, natural-sounding bass at frequencies far below those normally possible from small speakers.

No bigger than a trade paperback book, inMotion turns your iPod into a platform for convenient, headphone-free listening any time, any place. Its sound quality rivals that of systems many times its size. Sleek in design like the iPod itself, the inMotion system matches the iPod color scheme and features a built-in docking bay located between its speakers.

When docked inMotion’s iPod bay, your music player can perform all the same data transfer and synchronization functions possible via Apple’s standard, free-standing iPod dock. inMotion even takes advantage of iPod’s alarm feature to create a fully-functioning alarm clock that plays wake-up music of your choice–perfect for travel or dormitory use.
